2.What we collect

Information you send us

Your name, email address, phone number, your child's first name and age, a desired start date, and anything else you type into the contact form or the tour request. You choose what to put in those fields.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records the IP address, browser type, page requested, and timestamp of each request. These logs exist to keep the site running and to investigate abuse.

Consent choices

If you set a cookie preference, that choice is stored in your own browser so the site can honor it. It never reaches our servers.

How the site is used, if you accept analytics

Google Analytics records which pages you visited, in what order, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device and browser you used, against a random identifier for your browser. Microsoft Clarity records the same visit as a replay of how the page was used: scrolling, clicks and taps, with every input box and drop-down menu masked. Neither is given your name or your email address, neither is used to identify you personally, and neither runs at all unless you accept.

We do not collect precise location, biometric data, or payment card details through this website. There is no account to create here, so there is no password for us to hold.

Only two things are ever required, and only when you ask us for something: a name, and one way to reach you. Without those we cannot answer a question or hold a tour slot. Everything else on those forms is optional, and leaving a field blank does not stop us replying.

3.Where it comes from

All of it comes from you, or from your own browser:

• What you type into the contact form or the tour booking calendar.
• What you tell us when you call, email, or open the chat bubble.
• What your browser sends automatically when it asks our host for a page, which is how every website works.
• What the two analytics tools record about your visit, and only if you have accepted them.

We do not buy contact lists. We do not collect information about you from data brokers, social media profiles, or business directories, and we do not combine what you give us with anything obtained from a third party.

4.Why we use it, and what allows us to

We use what you send us to:

• Answer your question or schedule your tour.
• Follow up about enrollment when you have asked us to.
• Keep the site secure and diagnose technical problems.
• Meet our legal and licensing obligations as a childcare provider in New York.

Each of those rests on one of four things:

You asked us

You sent a question or requested a tour, and we are answering it. This covers the contact form, the booking calendar, and the conversation that follows while you are deciding.

You consented

The two analytics tools, and nothing else on this site. You give that consent on the cookie banner and you can withdraw it on the Cookie Settings page at any time, which stops both immediately. Withdrawing it does not undo what was collected while it was switched on.

Running the center properly

Keeping the site up, keeping it secure, investigating abuse, and holding on to a conversation long enough to finish having it. Nobody is asked to consent to a web server writing a log line.

The law

Our child day care license, New York childcare regulation, and tax and employment law each require records, and some of them set how long those records have to live.

We add you to a mailing list only if you ask to join one. Every message we send that way carries an unsubscribe link.

5.How long we keep it

An inquiry or tour request that does not lead to enrollment

24 months from your last contact with us, then deleted. Families often ask about an infant place and come back a year later, which is what that window is for. Ask us to delete it sooner and we will.

An inquiry that does lead to enrollment

It becomes part of your child's record and lives under your enrollment agreement from that point, not under this policy.

Records for enrolled children

Kept for the period New York State childcare licensing requires. Our license sets that, not our preference.

Email and chat correspondence

Treated as part of the inquiry it belongs to, so 24 months, unless it becomes part of a child's record.

Your cookie choice

Stored in your own browser rather than on our servers. It stays until you change it, clear your browsing data, or we change what a category does, which asks everyone again.

Server logs

Written and held by our hosting provider on its own schedule, which is short. We do not export them and we do not use them to build a picture of you.

Analytics

Held by Google and Microsoft under their own retention schedules. Switch Analytics off on the Cookie Settings page and nothing further is sent to either.

6.Who else can see it

Center staff

The people who need it to answer you, which usually means the director and the admissions contact.

Service providers

The companies that run our website hosting, our email, our form embeds, and our tour booking calendar. Each one sees only what its own function requires, and each is bound to keep it confidential.

Google and Microsoft, if you accept analytics

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity receive the browsing data described in section 2 and hold it under their own terms. Decline and they receive nothing.

Regulators and law enforcement

When a law, a subpoena, or a licensing requirement obliges us to produce records.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not disclose it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

If the center were ever transferred to another operator, the records needed to keep caring for enrolled children would go with it, because a child's file has to follow the child. We would tell families before that happened.

7.The embedded services on this site

Contact form and tour booking

Both are GoHighLevel widgets, served from link.usc-ny.org. What you type into either goes to GoHighLevel and reaches us from there. The widget receives your IP address and sets its own cookies once it loads, and it loads a Meta (Facebook) pixel and Cloudflare's anti-bot check inside its own frame. Those are GoHighLevel's, not ours, and they are on the Contact and Schedule a Tour pages only. The phone number and the email address reach the same people without any of it.

Chat bubble

The bubble in the bottom corner opens a chat page hosted at scaledaycares.github.io and operated by a marketing contractor working with the center. Opening it loads that page plus a booking widget and supporting files from leadconnectorhq.com, link.msgsndr.com, cdn.glitch.global and pub-files-live.illions.com, seven hosts in total when last measured. Nothing loads from any of them until you open the bubble: closed, it is a button and nothing more. What you type into it goes to that contractor and reaches the center from there. Use the contact form or the phone number instead if you would rather not involve them.

Map

The contact page links out to Google Maps rather than embedding it. Nothing loads from Google unless you click that link.

The GoHighLevel widgets load with the page they sit on, because they are the page's purpose: a contact form nobody can see is not a contact form. The chat bubble is different, and loads nothing until you open it. If you would rather not use any of them, call +1 (631) 581-0194 or write to info@usc-ny.org and you reach exactly the same people.

8.Children and this website

This website is written for parents and guardians. It is not directed at children, there is nothing on it for a child to sign up to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through it.

A parent filling in a form may include their child's first name and age. That reaches us from the parent, which is the parental consent the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act asks for when information about a child under 13 is collected online.

New York's Child Data Protection Act, in force since June 2025, sets rules for websites used by or aimed at people under 18. This one is aimed at their parents. We run no targeted advertising, we sell nobody's information, and we do not process a child's details for any purpose beyond answering the parent who sent them.

If you believe a child has sent us information through this site without a parent's involvement, email info@usc-ny.org and we will delete it.

9.How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS, so what you send is encrypted in transit. Access to submitted inquiries is limited to the staff who need it to answer you.

No website is perfectly secure. Do not send medical details, Social Security numbers, or immigration documents through a web form. Bring those to the center or call us.

New York's SHIELD Act requires us to protect the private information of New York residents and to notify you if a breach exposes it. We will.

10.Your choices

New York has no general consumer privacy law setting out a fixed list of rights over your data. We offer these anyway, to anyone who asks, wherever you live:

• See what we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
• Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
• Delete what we hold, unless a law or our license requires us to keep it. If that happens we will tell you which one, rather than just refusing.
• Take it with you, in a format you can actually open.
• Tell us to stop emailing you, which we will do without asking why.
• Withdraw your consent to analytics, which takes effect immediately.
• Object to something we are doing, and have a person look at it rather than receive a form letter.

Cookie Settings

Email info@usc-ny.org with your request. We will answer within 30 days, and we may need to check who you are first, because handing a child's details to the wrong person is the failure that matters most here.

If you are not satisfied with how we handled your request, say so and it goes to the center's director. You can also raise a concern with the Office of the New York State Attorney General, which enforces the Child Data Protection Act and handles consumer complaints.

11.Contacting us from outside the United States

The center is in East Islip, New York, and serves families who can drive to it. This website is not aimed at anyone outside the United States, and we neither market nor provide childcare in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom.

If you write to us from somewhere else anyway, your message reaches servers in the United States and United States law governs what happens to it. The choices in section 10 are open to you on the same terms as everyone else.

12.Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, and the date at the top will show when. A change that materially affects how we handle your information will be announced on the site.

If a change alters what one of the optional cookie categories actually does, the banner asks everyone again rather than carrying an old answer forward, because the choice you made was made about something else.
